COME IN COMMANDER PUNA

BLOG #3: OCT 30. Poetry.

COME IN COMMANDER PUNA

(for Annapurna)

Come in Commander Puna there’s no more fighting to be done The war is finally over and all your enemies are on the run I know you said the river is where we wash away our sins

But these kind of wounds run deeper than any water on your skin

The wound of love, the wound of light

The wounded shadow in the night

One by one they said "Stay true"

One by one they bled for you

Come in Commander Puna I know you’re still out there

Your lungs are filled with mercy, you’re breathing in thin air

You healed a thousand curses, you were not broken by the wheel

You stood your ground until you found who and what was real

The wound of love, the wound of light

The wounded shadow in the night

One by one they said "Stay true"

One by one they bled for you

Come in Commander Puna come in from the cold

The sacred fire in your heart has finally taken hold

Let it burn away all suffering, let it burn away all grief

You came to meet your maker, may you rest in peace.

Come in Commander Puna there’s no more fighting to be done.
