THE SONG OF SONGS

Updated: Jun 25, 2021

BLOG #12. JUNE 2021. HOW TARA OATZ SANG THOSE NOTES.

Tara Oatz was born on a full moon and without a hint of encouragement

erupted from the canal of her deliverance chanting the Bhagavad-Gita,

Coptic Bible, Dead Sea Scrolls, The Koran, the Mahabharata and several

more obscure but equally sacred texts in a language so pure and truthful

that all who heard her sing swore she sung in the primordial tongue of tongues.

Chanting these sacred texts non-stop took Tara by all accounts three years five months twelve hours fifty-six minutes and twenty-two seconds but when the last mantra was sung nothing else emerged from her mouth. Not a sound. Not a whimper. Not a sigh. Nothing. It was as if the sacred reel of words had emptied Tara of all desire to speak. Where there had once been the profound well of words now lay the equally profound well of Tara’s muteness.

Tara's mother Mimi whose flesh had been woven into the miracle of her only

daughter's birth watched for any further sign of speech or song. As for her father Larry, a devout pessimist, he was sure that this most auspicious of beginnings would somehow end in tragedy.

As for Tara she could not believe what all the fuss was about. After three

going on four years of solid recitation she was simply exhausted. All the prodding in the world was not going to force a single song from those perfect lips.
